Gwynne Melody Knap, CLD, CPD, CCCE, has always had a driving passion to
advocate for and support new mothers and their babies.  Having raised her own two grown children, she became especially interested in childbearing topics as she learned how to empower herself with solid evidence-based data as well as choosing healthcare providers that allowed her to successfully birth, bond and breastfeed. 

Gwynne spent much of her children’s growing up years as a single parent and as an architectural marketing representative. Gwynne has an extensive business and marketing background that she consciously chose to leave behind---about  five years ago, moving headlong and full time into her innate passion as a childbirth professional.  Gwynne has taught, as lead instructor for The Confident Childbirth Method for the last 4 years.  She also has been a CAPPA Certified Labor and Postpartum Doula to over 150 Atlanta area families.  It is her
dream job to enlighten and inspire expectant couples as they prepare for ameaningful and positive birthing experiences.  Gwynne is thrilled to now also
touch even more new families as she trains new labor doulas and
childbirth educators.  Gwynne is so proud to be associated with the world’s largest
childbirth organization as a CAPPA Faculty Member.

 

CAPPA's mission has been to offer comprehensive, evidence-based education, certification, professional membership, and training to childbirth educators, lactation educators, labor doulas, antepartum doulas, and postpartum doulas worldwide. CAPPA has offices in the United States, Canada, Israel, India, Caribbean and Ecuador, with plans to continue expanding worldwide.
